Halifax Academy had a special visitor today on campus to present an award in his name.

The seventy-two year old retired WRAL-Sports Anchor Tom Suiter started giving out his Extra Effort award in 1980 to area high school athletes who excelled in the classroom as well as their chosen sport.

Wednesday afternoon, Mr. Suiter was on campus to present Halifax Academy school's all-time basketball points leader senior Kelly Williams with the "Tom Suiter - WRAL Extra Effort Award".

Williams segment should air next Thursday night February 25th during the 6PM sports segment.
