The Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets basketball hosted the Warren County Eagles at the "HIVE" Saturday evening on Senior night.

The Lady Jackets were tied with the Eagles for second place in the 2A NCC standings and were in route for the best winning season in many years.

The Yellow Jackets ladies worked hard for the 49-40 win, moving them into second in the conference standings and clinched a home game Monday night February 15th in the 2A Northern Carolina Conference tournament against #7 seed Southern Vance at 7:30 PM. #3 seed Warren County will play #6 seed Franklinton at 6PM at the "HIVE".

Roanoke Rapids leading scorers were: Brooke McClenny with 12 points, Anna Vann with 11 points, Alizae Neville with 9 points, Haley Farrow with 5 points, Michelle Stewart with 4 points, Taylor Medlin with 4 points, and sisters Abbi Carpenter and Jordan Carpenter with 2 points each.

Roanoke Rapids Lady Jacket seniors are: Brook McClenny, Jordan Carpenter and Quadeisha Joyner.

 

 

The Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets men's team fell short in the last few seconds of the game, falling 54-53 to Warren County Eagles.

Roanoke Rapids leading scorers were Tyjarek Simmons with 23 points, TJ Scott with 14 points.

Head coach Tyler Snyder post game comments, "We made some turnovers late and did not shoot well from the foul line".

Roanoke Rapids Jacket seniors are Keondre Banks, Tre'Anderson Davis and Luke Burch

Roanoke rapids is #7 seed and will play at #2 seed Southern Vance Tuesday night February 16th.
