The 2015 Roanoke Rapids Youth Baseball Association Cal Ripken All-star Under 12 team beat Tarboro in opening round of Area 4 tournament play in Ayden NC.

The Roanoke Rapids All-Stars won 8-5 over Tarboro to advance to the second round of the double elimination tournament. With the top 3 of 7 teams advancing to the Eastern NC State Tournament next week.

Bennett Liverman pitched a complete game for the U12 all-stars striking out four and only walking one batter.

The Roanoke Rapids bats were hot Wednesday evening with Grayson Hargrave, Stacy Mumford, Rick Lee, Bennett Liverman, Hunt VanDam, Andre Stewart, Josh Miller and Anthony Jones all having hits for the Roanoke Rapids team.

The Roanoke Rapids U12 All-Stars next game will be against Winterville tomorrow night (Thursday June 18th) at 7PM in Ayden, NC
