The Blue Rocks, sponsored by Oscar's Restaurant, beat the Grasshoppers, sponsored by Lisa Christenbury Heating & Cooling on Monday night at Dickens Field 7-3.

The Blue Rocks, visiting team, scored three runs in the top of the 1st with a single from lead off batter, Ethan May, a single with one earned run from both Colin Clements and Hayden Garner.  Second baseman, Andrew Vincent got the first out for the Grasshoppers by tagging the runner attempting to steal second.  Wesley Boerner, pitcher for the Grasshoppers, struck out two batters to hold the Blue Rocks.

Gavin Hux got on base for the Grasshoppers with a single to right field.  Aric Stewart hit a triple to left field for one earned run.  Brayden Mills, pitcher for the Blue Rocks, held the Grasshoppers to one run by striking out three batters in the bottom of the 1st.

Wesley Boerner struck out three of five batters to hold the Blue Rocks in the top of the 2nd.

Eli Mason started off the bottom of the 2nd with a single then stole his way around the bases to put himself in scoring position for the Grasshoppers.  Brayden Mills held the Grasshopppers by striking out the next three batters.

The Blue Rocks got the bats swinging in the top of the 3rd with a triple and earned run from Ethan May, a sacrifice bunt and earned run from Brayden Mills, a double from Colin Clements, and a HOME RUN from Hayden Garner.  The defense of the Grasshoppers held the Blue Rocks to four runs by putting out a batter-runner at first, tagging out a runner attempting to make a steal at home, and a strikeout by Wesley Boerner.

The Blue Rocks held the Grasshoppers in the bottom of the 3rd with a throwdown from catcher, Colin Clements to second baseman, Alex Liverman to tag out the runner attempting to make a steal at second and two strikeouts by Brayden Mills.

The Grasshoppers held the Blue Rocks with the teamwork of catcher, Aric Stewart, and pitcher, Wesley Boerner, by tagging a runner attempting to make a steal at home and Wesley striking out two batters in the top of the 4th.

The Grasshoppers got the bats going in the bottom of the 4th but the defense of the Blue Rocks held the Grasshoppers to one run with a throw from pitcher, Brayden Mills, to first baseman, Hayden Garner to put out the batter-runner at first, a hustle in center field by Ryan Garris to get the ball back to shortstop, Ethan May, then to catcher, Colin Clements to tag out the batter-runner preventing a home run and a caught pop fly in center field by Ryan Garris. 

The Grasshoppers defense kept the team in the game by holding the Blue Rocks to zero runs in the top of the 5th with a strikeout by Wesley Boerner, a tag out by first baseman, Eli Mason, and a throw from second baseman, Andrew Vincent to Eli Mason at first for the third out.

The Grasshoppers started off the bottom of the 5th with a double from Eli Mason and a single and earned run from Brian Smith.  Brayden Mills maintained control by striking out three batters to secure the 7-3 win for the Blue Rocks.
