The #16 seed Roanoke Rapids softball team hosted #17 East Duplin in the 1st round of the 2A NCHSAA State softball play-offs Wednesday.

Roanoke Rapids beat East Duplin in 5 innings 12-2.

Sierra Hearp pithed the five innings allowing 2 runs off 3 hits, 5 walks & 5 strike-outs.

Brianna Allen hits a home-run for the third straight game & also had a single, a double and 3 RBI's, Brooke Vincent had 3 singles, Brooke McClenney had 2 doubles with 2 RBI's. Breanna Allen & Sierra Hearp had 2 singles with 2 RBI's each while Hope Vincent had 2 singles with 1 RBI. Hunter Martin & Jordan Carpenter each had a single.

The Yellow Jackets will most likely travel to #1 seed John Mathews Saturday. #1 seed John Mathews is hosting #32 seed Midaway today as well.
