Chaloner Middle girls softball team had a Halifax Academy Easter Tournament opening game rematch against Southampton Academy for the Championship Saturday afternoon.

Lizzy Colston pitched the full 5 innings with 7 strike-outs.

Leading batters for Chaloner were: Abbi Carpenter with a home-run & 2 singles, Lizzy Colston with a double & a single, Bethany Lassiter with a double & a single, Kelsey Bierbauer with 2 singles followed by Michelle Stewart, Cassidy Dickens, Morgan Davis and Haley Martin all going 1 for 3.

Chaloner scored in the bottom of the 5th inning with 1 out to win the championship by slaughter rule 12-2.

Chaloner players Cassidy Dickens & Lizzy Colston were named to the All Tournament team while Abbi Carpenter won the Tournament MVP.
