The Roanoke Rapids Lady Yellow Jackets hit the fields Saturday not skipping a beat

The Roanoke Rapids softball team beat South Creek 13-3 in 5 innings.

Hunter Martin earned the win from the mound pitching all five innings. Allowed 3 runs off of 3 hits with 1 walk and 8 strike-outs.

At the plate for the Lady Jackets 8 hits earned 13 runs. making contact were: Camden Bierbauer with a single and double with 3 RBI's, Brooke McClenney with a single and a double with 1 RBI, Hunter Martin with 2 singles and 3 RBI's and Jordan Carpenter with a single and a double with 2 RBI's.

Coach Steve Milligan said after the weekend games, "We played some very good competition. Our girls played well. We hit the ball strong our second & third game. We should have finished with three wins and every girl on our team contributed to the success of the tournament."

Coach add,"All our coaches dedicated themselves to this Easter Holiday tournament and the parents and family was very supportive."

The Roanoke Rapids Lady Yellow Jackets are now 6-3 overall in play.
