Saturday temperatures rose to 50 degrees and it felt like Spring, time for softball

Six co-ed softball teams showed up in Gaston Saturday morning to help raise money for the areas U12 travel softball team "Lady Venoms". That's over 60 players showed up for what appears to be the first local adult softball tournament of the season and a full 12 hours of softball.

Well when the games started at 9:00 AM, it was right around freezing and the field was fine, it was frozen. But as the temperatures rose, the dirt thawed out. Then there was mud. That didn't slow the fun, fellowship and cause one bit for these diehard softball players.

The Reapers survived the long day and walked away with the trophy and lots of mud.
