Well it is a week later, but finally Middle school and high school students had spring try-outs

Well they were inside, but they were in school and able to hold try-outs this this Monday afternoon. Last Monday was the NCHSAA first day of official practice but with bad weather and school out all week, no after school activates could happen either.

Chaloner Middle had a gym full as expected, Roanoke Rapids High school had a great turnout for Softball, baseball, track and girls soccer as well. Gaston College Prep also were ready to get some bats swinging.

Roanoke Rapids baseball's Wednesday scrimmage has had to be canceled and next Tuesday's home opener against Louisburg is still on at this time, but could change.

Roanoke Rapids Softball will make a decision Wednesday weather or not they will make the trip to Wakefield this Saturday for scrimmage play. Halifax Academy baseball has already changed their schedule and now will open their season next Friday March 6th at home with JV and Varsity games and Halifax softball opens March 6th at Wake.
