Buddy Isles Jr. heading to Sandusky Ohio as fabricator
Buddy Isles Jr. has had racing in his blood all his life. The younger Isles has been following his Father footsteps by working and driving a racecar. Jr. has raced on dirt for years with many wins and turned to asphalt for a couple of years hoping to turn some NASCAR owners heads.
ON Sunday Isles Jr. is leaving the Roanoke Valley to work for the NASCAR Championship team ThorSport Racing Camping World truck team in Sandusky Ohio as a fabricator for the team who fields three Toyota Tundras
Though he is not driving, he will be working on a two time NASCAR championship team of the #88 driven by Matt Crafton. ThorSport fields the 98 driven by Johnny Sauter as well and the #13 Toyota.
The Roanoke Valley has been the home of several others men who have worked the ranks of NASCAR. Roanoke Rapids natives, Earl Wheeler (Engine Builder for Hendrick Motorsports) Gray Warren (Parts Department RCR-over 20 years with Bill Davis racing in Parts and part of over the wall pit crew) and Jeff Buckner (Former Sadler Racing, Kevin Harvick Inc., DEI).
