RRPD blotter: July 1-2, 2016

The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Chuck Hasty:

A Monday night disturbance call led to the arrest of a Roanoke Rapids woman and warrants for a man who has not yet been taken into custody.

A Henrico woman reported missing Monday morning was found deceased in a wooded area near her home, the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office reports.

Halifax County commissioners today approved two communication projects, one which is expected to improve emergency communications in the Littleton and Scotland Neck areas, considered two of the worst dead air areas in the county.

BarnBurner Promotions released three new upcoming concerts and dates at the Roanoke Rapids Theatre.

Noah Joyner and Brandon Fornes took the oath of enlistment into the United States Marine Corps on the steps of the Halifax County Courthouse this evening during the town of Halifax’s Fourth of July celebration.

Arrest made in Bolling Road shooting

A Roanoke Rapids man has been charged in a shooting which occurred on Bolling Road last month.

The City County Drug Task Force is looking for a man with outstanding warrants who is now in more trouble after Halifax County Sheriff’s Office deputies discovered a marijuana plant growing near his residence Thursday.
