Weldon PD seeks assistance in hit and run

The Weldon Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in a hit and run which occurred May 12 shortly after 11 p.m.

Weldon police Chief James Avens said investigators have leads they are pursuing following a bomb threat made to Halifax Community College today.

Police clear HCC after bomb threat

Weldon police today released Halifax Community College back to faculty and staff around 1 this afternoon after a bomb threat was placed to the school this morning.

Classes at Halifax Community College were dismissed for the day but will resume for the evening session after a bomb threat was placed to the school this morning.

Whether through renovation or replacement, Weldon High School is the top capital priority within the district, presentations shown at a joint meeting with Halifax County commissioners this evening show.
