Planning board endorses mall gaming operation

The Roanoke Rapids Planning Board on a 5-2 vote this evening agreed to pass on a recommendation of approval for a conditional use permit which could lead to an electronic gaming operation at Becker Village Mall.

The Roanoke Rapids Planning Board this evening voted to recommend city council reject a rezoning proposal which could lead to an age-restricted senior apartment complex off Becker Drive.

The Roanoke Rapids Planning Board begins a second round of discussions Thursday on a rezoning request which could lead to the construction of senior apartments on Becker Drive.

The Roanoke Rapids Planning Board agreed this evening to continue deliberation of a proposed rezoning which could lead to a senior apartment complex in the Becker Drive area.

Roanoke Rapids City Council will be asked to consider less restrictive measures for electronic gaming operations after the planning board voted on loosening the current regulations this evening.

The Roanoke Rapids Planning Board began discussions this evening which could lead to recommending to city council less stringent regulations on electronic gaming operations while possibly tightening rules for nightclubs.

The planning board this evening passed to city council a recommendation for approval of two proposals — one a rezoning which could lead to a retail development and the other a conditional use permit for a U.S. Cellular tower.
