Commissioners OK Montfort design plans

Halifax County commissioners have agreed on design plans for the renovation of the Joseph Montfort Amphitheater, which was home to the outdoor drama First for Freedom.

Halifax County commissioners Monday night approved two economic development incentive grants — one for a company considering locating in the area and another for an established industry looking to expand.

The Halifax County Sheriff's Office has been activated by the North Carolina Sheriff's Association and deployed to assist Sheriff Asa Buck and the Carteret County Sheriff's Office.
