RR man arrested in Jackson B&E

The Northampton County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 27-year-old Roanoke Rapids man in a Saturday residential and motor vehicle break-in in Jackson.

Ronnie Lee Daniels, according to a statement by Captain M.D. Deloatch Sr., was seen walking in the area and detained by Sergeant P. Jacobs and A. Leitner.

Further investigation led to charges against Daniels for first-degree burglary; breaking and entering a motor vehicle, larceny and damage to personal property.

Daniels was jailed on $36,000 secured bond and is scheduled for a first appearance in court Thursday.

“The Northampton County Sheriff’s Office is dedicated to assisting all the local police departments and its citizens as much as and as often as possible,” Sheriff Jack Smith said in the statement. “We encourage citizens to call us for assistance any time they feel that help is needed.We also encourage our citizens to be a good witness by getting a good description of the suspect clothing and mode and direction of travel.”

Added Smith: “I would like to thank the Northampton County deputies and investigators for their prompt action to help take the suspect into custody. Our members did a good job in this case and we will continue to serve with quick response, professionalism and integrity.”
