Enfield police seek man who swiped cash from till

A man who who went into the Family Dollar store in Enfield under the pretense of buying an item swiped money from the register Monday night.

Lieutenant Jerry Powell of the Enfield Police Department said the robbery occurred shortly after 8:15 p.m. at the store located on North McDaniel Street.

Officers learned that a black male with a slender build entered the store. He went to the counter as if he was making a purchase. When the cashier opened the register, the man reached across the counter and took an undetermined amount of money.

He fled the store and was possibly traveling southbound on McDaniel Street in a small, silver car. The car has a possible license plate number of 5594.

A weapon was not brandished and no threats of violence were made.

The man stood approximately 5-feet, 10-inches tall to 6-feet tall. He wore a black, knit cap, yellow T-shirt with a design and blue jeans.

Any information to Crimestoppers is anonymous and can result in a cash reward if the information leads to an arrest or conviction of the suspect.
