Weldon Police Chief Mark Macon said in a statement Desmond Nyquan King was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon in the heist.
King gave up and met Captain James Avens at the police department, Macon said.
He was jailed on $40,000 bond.
Macon said the robbery, which occurred last Wednesday night, remains under investigation, and additional arrests may follow.
“I would like to thank the officers and investigators at the Weldon police department for their diligent efforts in solving this robbery,” Macon said.
