On Friday Deputy W. H. Wheeler encountered a vehicle parked in the roadway on Nash Brick Road just outside Enfield.
Wheeler noticed open containers of alcohol inside the vehicle.
Continued investigation led to the discovery of 102 grams of marijuana from within the vehicle. Wheeler arrested and charged Philip Danzel West, 25, of Hollister, the operator of the vehicle, with felony possession of marijuana, felony maintaining a vehicle for controlled substance, and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.
He received a $5,000 secured bond and October 17 court date.
On September 1 around 8:30 p.m. Deputy Isaiah Smith and Sergeant C. Emerson Carroll responded to an address on Badger Lane just outside Enfield regarding a possible sexual assault.
An investigation led by Carroll and Smith led to charges being filed against Lynn Earl Smith, 50, of Enfield.
During their encounter with Smith, he was found in possession of marijuana.
Smith was arrested and charged with indecent liberties with a child, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He has a September 24 court date pending.
