RRPD roundup: Absconder arrested; hit and run with pole

The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Chuck Hasty:

On Wednesday at approximately 6:30 p.m., Captain Andy Bryant conducted a traffic stop on Oakwood Avenue for a violation.  

During the stop narcotics and paraphernalia was found.   

Jerry Wayne Vowell, 17, of Roanoke Rapids, a passenger in the vehicle, was arrested and charged by Master Officer R. Cross for possession of heroin, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He received a $7,500 bond and August 15 court date.  

Bryant cited the driver, Kristen Lee Harlin, 20, of Roanoke Rapids, for exceeding the posted speed limit and possession of drug paraphernalia.

She was released until her August 31 court date.

Master Officer A. Salmon and Officer M. Worrell assisted.

On Thursday at approximately 9 p.m., Cross conducted a traffic stop on Old Farm Road at Park Avenue for a violation.  

During the stop narcotics, a stolen firearm and drug paraphernalia was found.

Cross arrested and charged the following:

Teshami Juwan Treshon Vick, 26, of Roanoke Rapids, for possession of stolen firearm, possession of firearm by felon, possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, possession of marijuana, maintaining a vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving while license revoked, speeding and resisting/delaying/obstructing an officer.

He received a $140,000 bond and August 1 court date.

Vick is listed as an absconder from probation and parole supervision, according to the state Department of Public Safety.

 

Jermaine Tyson 25 of Roanoke Rapids for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He received a $1,000 bond and August 27 court date.

 

Jaylon Chance Long, 22, of Wilkesboro, for possession of stolen firearm, possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana and possession of marijuana.

He received an $8,000 bond and August 1 court date.

Officers A. Green and S. Blythe assisted.

 

On Thursday at approximately 11:30 p.m., Blythe responded to a hit and run collision with a pole.  

Blythe located the vehicle on Wilson Street and began the investigation.

The driver, Dallas Owen Hollowell, 25, of Roanoke Rapids, was found in possession of narcotics and paraphernalia.

Hollowell was arrested and charged for hit/run with property damage, driving while license revoked, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and was served an outstanding order for arrest.

He received a $2,600 bond and August 13 court date.

Sergeant M. Moseley assisted.
