Local cheerleaders are part of State Champions

Three Roanoke Valley local athletes are all-star cheerleaders cheering at EC Cats in Greenville NC are State Champions.

Mallaury Pageau, Toni Darden, and Jalen Pearson all members of the EC Cats Fierce Cats, a level 3 coed team, competed at the Universal Spirit All Star State Championship on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Greensboro Special Events Center in Greensboro, NC.

Their teams came in 1st place and earned them the title of State Champions. Toni Darden and Jalen Pearson also compete on the level 5 Jags team which also came in first place and earned a bid to The Summit, an all-star cheerleading championship competition that takes place at Disney World in Florida in late April.

The Summit all-star Cheerleading Championship only allows teams that win bids to compete in the competition. Only the top 10 percent of Cheer leading teams from throughout the world are invited to compete.
