The Enfield Police Department is trying to gather information about the theft of a refrigerated trailer and a Freightliner cab used to take it away.

Video shows the white FLD-120 cab towing the 2000 Dorsey trailer shortly before 1 a.m. today.

Lieutenant Jerry Powell said the video caught the rig traveling south on Highway 301.

The 53-feet trailer has a Maine registration plate number of 1962782.

The cab is a 1995 or newer model Freightliner with mountings for an air shield. It has a flat top cab and sleeper.

The police department is trying to get identification on the tractor, which is not the cab that typically pulls the trailer. It is believed the driver may have a CDL or knowledge of how to operate a tractor-trailer, Powell said.

Powell said it is possible the trailer may have been stolen to use for parts as the refrigeration unit is about half the price of the trailer.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the police department at 252-445-5122 or Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444.
