Emry gets makeover

A two-year project to improve Emry Park is coming to a close.

In delivery of the 2012/2013 proposed budget for the city, Interim Manager Ed Wyatt also outlined some of the things Roanoke Rapids leaders must focus on for the future.

Interim City Manager Ed Wyatt presented a balanced, $14,272,016, budget for the upcoming fiscal year that includes no proposed tax increase and a 3 percent cost of living adjustment for city employees.

Hit and run, chase leads to charges

A Weldon man has been charged in an early Sunday morning hit and run and chase which began in South Rosemary and ended when he crashed on Caroline Street in Weldon.
