On behalf of the Halifax County Arts Council, I, too, would like to thank Sherry Wade, our Chairman, for gathering together an incomparable community team that brought the NC Symphony to the Roanoke Rapids Theater to do what it does best: to Play... and to Play beautifully.
If I ever plan on having a party, I know who I'm going to have plan it — the Halifax County Arts Council.
The Saturday show at the Roanoke Rapids Theatre is more than just putting the North Carolina Symphony Orchestra center stage. It's also shining a spotlight on those working behind the scenes to make it happen.
Coming into the southern entrance of Roanoke Avenue is now a visible reminder of the past and present history of the city.
It’s an arts who done it — A mystery artist commissioned to do a painting depicting life or history in the Roanoke Valley.
On April 30 the mystery will be solved when the first painting in Canvas Halifax is unveiled and the artist is identified.
