Annie Marshall Lemay Coker, 96, of Cary and formerly of Pleasant Hill and Lake Gaston, died Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Mayview Convalescent Center in Raleigh.

Quintin Robert “Kenny” Valdes, 78, of Roanoke Rapids, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Hunter Hills Nursing & Rehab Center in Rocky Mount.

Gwendolyn Butts Joyner, 80, of Roanoke Rapids, died Saturday, January 8, at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Arthur Joseph Barrett, 82, of Roanoke Rapids died Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Edward Dale Curry III, 72, of Roanoke Rapids died Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.

Joseph Stancil “Shorty” Padgett, 75, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Halifax Regional Medical Center.  He was born October 31, 1935, the son of the late John Alfred Padgett and Rose Carter Padgett Harlow.  He was also preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Padgett Tritt, and his brothers, John Lewis Padgett and Jesse Lee Alfred “Pop” Padgett, his niece, Tammy Padgett Buck, and his nephew, Johnny Padgett.

Thomas E. “Tom” Myrick Sr., 77, of Roanoke Rapids passed away on Tuesday, November 23^rd at MCV Hospitals in Richmond from complications of a massive stroke.  He passed peacefully in the compassionate care of the nurses and physicians of the Thomas Palliative Care unit of MCV Hospitals.

Myrtle Alpha Nelson Nance, 94, of Roanoke Rapids died Saturday, November 13, 2010 at Guardian Care of Scotland Neck.
