The Roanoke Rapids High School Varsity Yellow Jackets Baseball team dropped their conference road game at South Granville on Tuesday afternoon by a score of 3-0.

Josh Elias was the tough luck loser on the mound for the Yellow Jackets.  He pitched 6 innings, giving up 3 runs (only 1 was earned) on 5 hits while striking out 4 batters.

The Yellow Jackets were led on offense by Cameron Rogerson and Hunter Connell who each had one hit.

Post game Jackets head Coach Mark Snead stated, "This was a tough loss.  Josh Elias pitched a great game against a strong South Granville lineup.  He gave us a great chance to win today, but we just couldn't get it done.  We made a few mistakes in the field and they took advantage of it.  Cameron Rogerson had a good day at the plate.  He got on base twice and had another hard hit ball that the first baseman made a good play on.  I really liked his approach at the plate today.  We had runners in scoring position on multiple occasions today, but just couldn't get that timely hit.  We did some good things today, but we also saw some areas to work on to get better.  These guys will respond in a big way.  I know it."

The Yellow Jackets drop to 4-2 overall and 2-1 in the Northern Carolina Conference.  The next game for RRHS will be Wednesday afternoon at home against Durham School of the Arts.  Game time is set for 6 pm.
