Smith, Shearin receive Crawley scholarships

Two Roanoke Rapids High School seniors, Semaj Smith and Meghan Shearin, have been awarded the Ethel W. Crawley Memorial Education Fund Scholarship.

Roanoke Rapids High School Senior Aurora Myers was named as one of the 50 winners of the Goodnight Scholars Program at North Carolina State University and will receive a full scholarship to study biology there.

Three Roanoke Rapids High School students have received the Global Navigator Scholarship for summer study abroad programs in France, Italy, and the Dominican Republic.

Jackets open conference with wins

Roanoke Rapids varsity basketball teams opened their Northern Carolina Conference  play Tuesday night at home in the "HIVE".

RRHS Concert Choir fall performance Tuesday

The Roanoke Rapids High School Concert Choir will present its Fall Concert and Vocal Showcase, American Pop Forever Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the RRHS Auditorium.

The administrative building of Roanoke Rapids High School will be dedicated in honor William P. Branch Sunday.

The beginning of each football season brings fans different emotions with hope and excitement.

More than 40 Roanoke Rapids High School students in the school’s public safety academy are in the process of becoming certified by the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
