Another delay possible in Tillmon trial

A possible delay in the trial of Operation Rockfish defendant Antonio Tillmon could be in the offing after his new attorney filed a motion for a continuance in the police corruption case.

With the trial of Operation Rockfish defendant Antonio Tillmon now scheduled for February, sentencing of the remaining 14 former law enforcement and correctional officers charged in the case has been moved to March.

Tillmon's Rockfish trial delayed until February

The trial of the only defendant to plead not guilty in the Operation Rockfish police corruption case has now been continued until February, documents in filed in the federal court system show.

New documents in the Operation Rockfish police corruption case say a million dollars worth of heroin was at issue and the purported drugs were loaded into vehicles containing secret compartments.

New evidence has apparently surfaced which will delay the trial of Antonio Tillmon in the Operation Rockfish police corruption case.

The United States Attorney’s Office argues in a motion filed today in Greenville Operation Rockfish defendant Antonio Tillmon was not entrapped by the government to join a purported drug trafficking organization in the police corruption case.

One of the latest issues to emerge in the Operation Rockfish police corruption case is discussion of a warehouse which figured prominently in motions to have Antonio Tillmon’s trial in the matter continued until October.

With a continuance granted in the trial of Operation Rockfish defendant Antonio Tillmon, the sentencing of the other 14 who took pleas in the case is also expected to be continued.
