With one more day left in the filing period for the November 7 municipal elections, the latest report Wednesday by the Halifax County Board of Elections shows the races shaping up as follows:

Roanoke Rapids Sanitary District Board of Directors

Incumbents James E. Kerr II, Jon Baker and Colby Lyles have filed.

Roanoke Rapids City Council District 1

Challenger Jacob Dean and incumbent Rex Stainback have filed.

Roanoke Rapids City Council District 2

Incumbent Sandra W. Bryant has filed.

Roanoke Rapids City Council District 3

Newcomer Warren “Keith” Bell has filed.

Roanoke Rapids Graded Schools Board of Education

Incumbents Henry Ford and Michael “Mike” Salanik, and Valencia Davis have filed. Challengers David Pericak and Carlton Ansley have filed.

Town of Enfield Town Commissioner at-large

Challenger Vincent D. Nicholson has filed.

Town of Halifax Town Commissioners

Incumbent Patterson Wilson has filed.

Town of Hobgood Town Commissioners

Incumbents Sallie Leggett and Milton Armston filed.

Town of Littleton Town Commissioners

Incumbents Lynn Moseley and Ophelia Gould-Faison have filed.

Town of Scotland Neck Mayor

Incumbent Eddie Braxton and challenger Leroy Powell have filed.

Town of Scotland Neck Town Commissioners

Challenger Raymond Hyman Sr. and incumbents Charlie Shields, Raymond Watson and James Gunnells have filed.

Town of Weldon Town Commissioners

Challenger Jennifer Cox and incumbent Nancy Sandoval have filed.

Filing ends Friday at noon at the board of elections office located in the Historic Courthouse on King Street in Halifax.
