Alma Hancock Lanier, 91, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2023. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Annie Hancock, sisters, Margaret Brown, Hazel Welch, Betty Sanderson, and Thelma Kasper, and brothers, Calvin Hancock and Roland Hancock. 

Alma is survived by her children, Robert Lanier, and Danita Williams, sister, JoAnne Smith, grandchildren, Leonard Lanier and Thomas Lanier.

Alma sang in the church choir. She loved to bake cookies and pies for the kids in vacation bible school. She had a passion for working with children. 

Funeral Services will be held on 2:00 PM Friday, June 23, 2023 at Wrenn Funeral Home with Pastors Mike McAuley and Rex Evans. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 12:30 PM.
