Zakevion Jaques Hilliard, 19, of Hollister surrendered to the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office today to face a first-degree murder charge in the May 12 death of 19-year Quincy Mills.

Lieutenant Shane Guyant said Hilliard surrendered around 12:30 this afternoon and was jailed without the opportunity for bond.

The sheriff’s office continues to search for a male juvenile also wanted in the case.

Hilliard is scheduled for a Wednesday first appearance in Halifax County District Court.

News of Hilliard’s surrender comes after the sheriff’s office reported earlier today that two Rocky Mount men had been charged Monday in the death of Mills, who was found deceased on Evans Farm Road in the Hollister area.

The sheriff’s office said earlier Eric Devon Hinton Jr., 21, and Devonte Montrell Sykes, 19, both of Rocky Mount, were charged Monday after detectives used physical and digital evidence in their investigation of the case.

Hinton and Sykes were scheduled for first district court appearances today. No further information was available on the outcome of those appearances.
