Clarice Joyner Pearce, 77, of Roanoke Rapids passed away Friday, March 27, 2020 at Liberty Commons Nursing Home.

Clarice was born May 1, 1942 in Franklin County to the late Kenneth Edward Joyner and Mary Charles Mitchell. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Peggy Wise and Rochelle Crowder; her brother-in-law Harold Crowder; her father-in-law, Frank Pearce and her mother-in-law, Maggie Pearce.

Clarice was a devoted wife, mama, grandmother and friend to all. She helped her husband run a business for over fifty-three years until her health made her step aside. She was the biggest fan of her two sons racing and was at the race track every time she could go. She enjoyed concerts and was a great cook.

Clarice is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years, James Pearce; her sons, Jimmy Pearce and his wife Anne, Scott Pearce and his wife Renee, Jeffrey Shaw; his daughter, Jennifer Harris and her husband Garrett; her sister, Kenny Waddell and her husband Ivan; her brother, Kenneth Joyner and his wife Diane; brother-in-law, George Wise; her grandchildren, Lisa Pearce, Billy Lynch, Jr., Tyler Pearce, Katelyn Pearce, Peyton Harris and Colton Harris; several nieces and nephews; very close friends and longtime faithful employees, Eric McGee and David Tuggle.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 30, 2020 at Hawkins Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Jeremy Kobernat officiating.
