Team Inspire begins run to the beach

From the Hilton Garden Inn this morning, women coping with and affected by mental health issues began their run from awareness.

From Ringwood Road to Roanoke Rapids, City County Drug Task Force agents started the day early, arriving in the Enfield area around 7 a.m. and finishing up this afternoon on Church Street in the city.

RR man faces federal weapon counts

A Roanoke Rapids man currently serving a state prison sentence for possession of a weapon as a felon was indicted on three counts of federal weapon charges.

A woman found in a field on the side of Macon Price Road Tuesday morning was shot multiple times, the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office said this morning.
