Police seek two in ID theft case

The Roanoke Rapids Police Department is conducting an investigation related to identity theft.

Conway man charged in Scotland Neck B&Es

A Conway man who was sent to Halifax County upon his release from the Southampton County Detention Center in Courtland awaits a July 5 court date on several breaking and entering charges related to crimes in the Scotland Neck area.

Officials from the Northampton and Halifax branches of the NAACP Friday will call on the district attorney's office to offer support and create a task force designated to focus on the missing and unsolved murder cases in each county.

Randal Tavaris Garner, a Halifax County Detention Center inmate who was mistakenly released, was taken into custody around 3 this morning.
