These two teams met last month and after a regulation game and 20 minutes of hard fought overtime, they managed to only end in a draw.
That was not the case Wednesday night.
The Jackets were fired up and determined this night would end in victory and it showed on their faces.
North Johnston and Roanoke Rapids both played a physical game and the referees were all about keeping the game under control.
The first goal of the night was a penalty kick from Kyle Pratt after a foul was called in the box against the Panthers.
Rudy Draper closed out the first half with 2 minutes left and the Jackets went into halftime dominating 2-0.
North Johnston didn’t give up easily and the second half was just as exciting as the first 40 minutes of action, but the Jackets were fierce.
Coach Terry Frazier said his team was playing well offensively and defensively and executing well to the finish.
Colyn Eure scored with more than 27 minutes left in the game and the rest of this game was defense.
RRHS won 3-0 and are now 11-3-1 for the season.
The Jackets will continue conference play on Monday night as they travel to Louisburg. Match time is set for 6pm.
Earlier in the afternoon, the JV Jackets also defeated North Johnston.
