When I consider my blessings during this Thanksgiving season, I am thankful to be a part of this community.

Part of our community is the Roanoke Rapids High School Yellow Jacket Football Team.

I want to say I appreciate the efforts and dedication of players, coaches, cheerleaders, the band, and all behind the scenes who have a part in seeing the team is able to play weekly.

Players, you have nothing of which to be ashamed.

Your never-quit attitude and hard work shined each week you played and I am grateful to have witnessed your efforts throughout the season.

Don't leave the season taking away only the results of the final game but reflect on your body of work throughout the season.

You accomplished much and brought many in our community together on Friday nights for an unforgettable season.

You represented our City well.

I am proud of you and our high school.

Your passion and dedication revealed in the tears I saw after the final Tarboro game proves your devotion to your team, school and community.  I wish all of you the best in your future and look forward to next season to those who return.
