Mrs. Baird was born May 14, 1915, to the late Leonard Walker and Lena Jane Jenkins Walker.  Also preceding her in death were her husband, Robert Lloyd Baird;  a son, David R. Baird; sisters: Verla Carter and Betty Rue Pittman; brothers: Edward Walker and Willie Floyd Walker.

Surviving her are her sons: Cecil Baird and wife,  Betty, of Roanoke Rapids; Lloyd Baird of Skippers, Virginia; and Bobby Baird and wife, Ann, of Rocky Mount; her daughter: Charlotte Ferguson and husband, Ed, of Roanoke Rapids; brother: Vernon Walker of Wilson; brother-in-law: Ulyssee Baird; sisters: Rachel Owens  and Lurleen Wilson of Littleton; sisters-in-law: Mary Elizabeth Paynter and Dorothy B. Lynch; daughter-in-law Candy Baird; grandchildren: Rob Ferguson, Chris Ferguson (Sonya), Robert Payne,  Jr. (Shelby), Paula Miles  (Darell), Michael Baird, Calvin Baird (Jessica), Jeffrey Baird, Julie Baird, Kim Beneck (Chris); great-grandchildren: Thomas & James Ferguson, Eric and Kara Baird, Hanna Baird, Jacob & Summer Baird, Jamelyn Ferguson and, Emma Beneck.

The family will receive friends Friday, November 4, 2011, from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service which is handling the arrangements, and other times at the home.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2011, at Weavers Chapel United Methodist Church at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Stan Lewis officiating.   Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
