Harry was a native of Halifax County, the son of the late Joseph Aaron Gentry and Alma Medlin Gentry Hundley. He was also preceded in death by a son, Tyler Jordan Gentry, and two brothers, Joseph Aaron Gentry, Jr. and James Lawrence Gentry.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Cooper Gentry; his daughter, Summer Michele Gentry, of Roanoke Rapids; three sons, Harry William “Billy” Gentry, Jr. and his wife, Candice, John Aaron Gentry and Eileen Carter, and Johnathon Taylor Gentry, all of Roanoke Rapids; four grandchildren, Ryan Dakota Gentry, Cooper Gentry, Trinity Holloman, and Madison Gentry.
Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends on Monday, November 14, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, November 15, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Sue Owens officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
