Police Chief Mark Macon said the robbery occurred around 8 p.m. when a woman went to the trunk of her car and was approached by a person described as a black male wearing a gray, hooded jacket. The man pulled out a handgun and demanded the victim hand over her purse. The victim complied and the man walked away from Washington Avenue and Sixth Street, where the robbery occurred.
