Keyes Keyes Halifax County Sheriff's Office

A Roanoke Rapids woman faces multiple counts of forgery and embezzlement from her employer, according to the Halifax County Sheriff's Office.

Detective R. Somogyi said the alleged embezzlement occurred over a couple of months.

Somogyi said Katherine Anne Keyes, 44, allegedly embezzled approximately $10,000 from Merritt Piping where she was employed.

He declined to say how she allegedly embezzled the money and declined to give the total number of charges, saying only they were multiple.

The company reported the crime last week and Keyes was arrested today and jailed on $40,000 bond.

She has a February 29 court date.
