A woman was cut and her boyfriend charged with resist, delay and obstruct Thursday night on Cedar Street.

Roanoke Rapids Police Officer Lee Mason responded to the 1000 block of Cedar Street shortly before midnight on a disturbance call and found the victim had been cut in the wrist, throat and chin with what was later determined to be a straight razor.

The victim told Mason she had gone to 1018 Cedar Street to get her boyfriend, Jaquan Cheeks, when she was allegedly jumped and cut by Amber Logan, 20.

It is unclear what caused the victim to be jumped, Captain Andy Jackson said.

Logan was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and jailed on $10,000 bond. She has a July 1 court date.

Meanwhile, Cheeks was charged with resist, delay and obstruct for interfering with the investigation. He was jailed on $500 secured bond and also has a July 1 court date.

The victim is OK and was treated and released from the hospital.

Maybe the boyfriend was messing around with more than one woman. That would explain a lot
