A Roanoke Rapids woman was charged this morning after she allegedly stabbed a male acquaintance in the chest just above the heart.

Major Bruce Temple of the Halifax County Sheriff's Office confirmed Sergeant Greg Richardson responded to Smith Church Road around 1 a.m. where he learned a 48-year-old victim had been stabbed after the two had been arguing.

The two may have been drinking, Temple said Richardson's report indicated, and Rhonda Bryant Stanley, 52, allegedly stabbed the man with a 5-inch blade pairing knife.

The victim was transported to an out of town hospital where his injuries were not said to be life threatening but serious.

Stanley was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and jailed on $5,000 bond.

The justice system for Halifax County definately sucks! Her bond isn't high enough and the drug dealers' bonds either. I can't wait until the next election to run those soft on crime judges and the District Attorney out of office. This is definately not my parent's Roanoke Rapids!
