WRAL reports a wildfire has burned at least one building and was threatening a hog farm in the Scotland Neck area of Halifax County Saturday afternoon.

Scotland Neck Fire Chief Patrick Stanton said that wind and dry conditions helped the fire spread quickly over more than 400 acres along N.C. Highway 258, near Douglas Hill Farm Road. Several area fire departments have responded.

The fire burned an older house that was being used as a hunt club.
