One of those changes will be in the sign located in the triangle on Highway 158/Highway 301, Commissioner Martha Alford said at tonight's meeting.

The new sign is currently under construction said Alford, and the town's NC Small Town Economic Prosperity committee is also working on its website.
The committee has depleted its facade grant funds and is hoping to have that fund replenished.
Meanwhile, Alford said beginning the middle of this month, the town will start street scape improvements.
That means work will begin on the 300 block of Washington Avenue to replicate what has already been done in the 100 and 200 blocks, where streetlights are replaced with those that give an old-fashioned look and sidewalks are improved.
Mayor Julia Meacham said as the improvements are made, three new businesses have located on Washington Avenue. They include the House of Beauty, Catering and More next to town hall and Benjamin Furniture, which will locate in the old Heileg-Myers building. Ribbon cutting ceremonies for the three businesses will be held on August 27, although a time has not been set.
Friday at 1 p.m. the town will unveil its rockfish in the Roanoke Valley Rocks campaign.
NC STEP has provided $30,000 for the third round of street light installation and the town board unanimously voted to appropriate $25,000 to complete the work.
Interim Finance Officer David Overton told the board having the Public Utilities Department do the sidewalk work will save the town $7,000.
Alford said completing the street project in the 300 block is important. “That's where the town has a lot of activity.”
She said the lighting will address concerns raised by business owners in the block.
Following the meeting, town Commissioner Walter Clark Jr. said there will be four signs put up in addition to the one in the triangle.
There will be one located at the access area of Interstate 95, one at Halifax Community College, one at Highway 301 at the town limit sign and one at the Rockfish Capital Bridge. “They will be way finding signs for Riverfalls Park and the downtown area,” Clark said.
Meacham said the signs will feature the blue and yellow trim of Weldon High School. The one in the triangle will have a rockfish on the back of it.
