Chief Mark Macon said the suspect is described as a black male with a small build who entered the store wearing a hooded jacket with a mask over his face shortly before 10:30 p.m.
He pulled out a gun and demanded money from the clerk. When the register was open he reached in and took all the cash from the drawer.
He fled the store on foot headed to the downtown area around Third Street. It is believed at some point he got in a car.
