Captain James Avens said Gray knocked out a window and was found in the garage when officers arrived and was charged with breaking and entering and damage to property.
He was jailed on $1,000 bond.
“I would like to encourage citizens to not hesitate in calling for suspicious activities that go on in their neighborhoods. I would like to personally thank the anonymous caller that was concerned enough to make the call,” Avens said.
• Marcus Wayne Hardy of the Roanoke Rapids area was arrested on July 16 by Shaw after being stopped in a vehicle for speeding that lead to a drug arrest.
Hardy had marijuana and hydrocodone pills.
