Jamill Simmons, 18, a former football player for Weldon High, is charged with three counts of breaking and entering, two counts of larceny, one count of damage to real property and one count of injury to real property.
Avens, of the Weldon Police Department, said the arrest yesterday stems from two break-ins at Weldon High School on April 24 and one on June 20 at Weldon Elementary School.
Thirty laptops were stolen from the high school, along with the carts and two wireless carts. Fourteen laptops were stolen from Weldon Elementary School. Avens said the carts were recovered but only three computers were recovered. They were presumably sold, he said.
Simmons was jailed on $15,000 bond and has a Sept. 9 court date.
