Jonah Powell, 18 of Roanoke Rapids, is being sought.

Deputy Danny Radford responded to a shooting call on Brigman Street and found a victim laying in the living room floor with gunshot wounds to the torso.

It was reported a dispute over a woman sparked the shooting, Martin said.

Herring was charged with attempted first degree murder and jailed on $25,000 bond. The juvenile faces the same charge and was sent to a secured location in Greenville. Both have March 16 court dates.

Martin could not be reached immediately for further comment.

Anyone with information on Powell should call Crimestoppers at 252-583-4444 or the sheriff’s office at 252-583-8051.
