Shortly before 3:45 this morning officers were called to the area off Highway 48 on a shooting call.
Deputies, according to Major Bruce Temple, found Tony Devon Hawkins was fatally shot in the throat and a 14-year-old boy grazed by a bullet in the upper torso, resulting in minor injuries. Two mobile homes and at least one car were hit by shrapnel from a high powered rifle.

Alston
Deputies learned that during a party men began to argue over unknown issues. The altercation involved 23-year-old Elvin Maurice Alston of Roanoke Rapids and others.
Alston left with 19-year-old Travis Jackson, also of Roanoke Rapids, and the two returned later with Jackson driving and Alston allegedly armed with a rifle.
The weapon was fired from the car.
Alston and Jackson have been charged with murder and further charges are pending.
They were jailed without the opportunity for bond and are scheduled to appear in court August 24.
Temple said the case remains under investigation.

Find him?? I didn't know he was lost, and if he is so great... tell him to come find me. Quit preaching on here! It's sick and sad!! Go to the streets and witness!! No one cares about your religion here, or in this case. It is apparent that the people at this party weren't god fearing or they wouldn't have been partying at a drug house!! Stick that in your Bible and Pray over it!!
Seriously.....God is not the one to play with. I pray you find Him before it's to late. Be blessed.
THUMP THUMP THUMP!! Anyone else hear the bible thumping from the SUnday Oscar Award Winners?!?!?
Of course, Lilly. Just shut it down the first time they showed up with no probable cause to do so. Fortunately, they couldn't have done such a thing.. BECAUSE WE DON'T LIVE IN A POLICE STATE, BUT A FREE COUNTRY! Sad the boy was killed, but HE should have chose a better group of people to hang out with!
