Two busted for drugs in suspicious van

Marijuana and crack was found on two men riding in a van a Halifax County Sheriff’s Office deputy stopped this morning.

Lieutenant George Evans said Deputy Steven Casey spotted a suspicious van in Hobgood and stopped it in Scotland Neck around 12:15 a.m.

The deputy smelled marijuana inside the vehicle and conducted a search, allegedly finding .60 grams of marijuana on 29-year-old Quanta Moye, who was arrested for possession of marijuana and a warrant for assault on a female.

Quinton Lowe allegedly had 22 rocks of crack cocaine on him, a total weight of 3.8 grams.

Lowe, 25, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver crack cocaine and jailed on $5,000 bond.

He has a February 9 court date.
