Lieutenant Bobby Martin of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said Queen Mallory Robinson, 42, of Roanoke Rapids, was charged with larceny by employee. She was jailed on $15,000 bond and has an August 8 court date.
Robinson joins Doreen Neely, 49, of Seaboard, and Sharonda Savage, who were arrested July 1, as the other former Travel World employee charged. Investigation continues.
Martin said those charged allegedly played Pick 3 and some scratch off tickets without paying for them. On winning tickets they would place a small amount of money in the register while keeping the rest. It is unclear how money they kept and how much they returned.
The North Carolina Lottery informed Newsom Oil Company something was suspicious and Newsom Oil requested a sheriff’s office investigation, Martin said.
The three allegedly played the lottery this way from last September to June.
